Congratulations Ricky Barnes - 2nd place at the U.S. Open

Congratulations to PGA Pro golfer and Verve spokesperson Ricky Barnes on his tie for 2nd place at the 109th U.S. Open. Even amidst the rain-delay and soaked greens at Bethpage State Park, Ricky who sported his Verve polo proudly, kept the New York gallery energy high, as all eyes were on the underdog's leader standings. Barnes, who led the stretch for 54-holes, with a 6-shot lead over the field at one point, headed into Monday's final round tied for the lead at 7-under par with fellow golfer, Lucas Glover.

Although the June 22nd final round ended with Glover securing the U.S. Open cup, Barnes' weeklong performance has already positioned him as a winner in the record books. Shooting an 11-under par at one point and setting a 36-hole Open scoring record, Barnes has become the fourth player in U.S. Open history to achieve double digits under par.

When all was said and done at Bethpage Black, Ricky Barnes soared over the pressure and shot a 76 which secured him the tie for 2nd place with PGA Tour veterans, David Duval and Phil Mickelson. Our congratulation goes out to Ricky for his record-setting performance.
